San Ling Centre has been in operation for 10 years now and was the first medicine clinic to be opened by Dr. Wen in London. There are now 2 more clinics which have been successfully running for 3 years in Baker Street , (central London) and Golders Green (North London).
Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used in China for over 2000 years and still provides about half of medical treatment in china today. It includes herbal treatment, acupuncture, acupressure and tuina massage, and the practice of Qigong exercises. All these methods work on the principles of Chinese Medicine which include balancing the Yin/Yang, regulating the flow of energy in the channels and harmonising the function of the different organs.

San Ling Centre - Swiss Cottage, London
They look at the person as a whole, treating not only the symptoms but also the root of the problem, and promoting the person's own natural healing power.

The different treatment methods suit different people according to their condition, their age, their individual lifestyle and their preferences.

Dried herbs, individually prescribed from a selection of over 300, have a very wide range of uses but are particularly good for chronic problems, imbalances of the internal organs such as the heart, general fatigue, weekness, lower resistance to infection and skin problems. A prescription will usually contain up to 15 herbs which have to be boiled and the liquid drunk.

Acupuncture, using extremely fine, sterile, disposable (single use) needles to stimulate points along the energy channels, is remarkable in it's effects on painful conditions, nerve and stress problems, amongst many others.

Acupressure and tuina massage, have a similar effect to acupuncture but using the hands rather than needles. It is usually carried out through the clothing and without oils.

Qigong exercises (breathing and mind exercises integrated with simple physical exercises), allow the patient to play an active role in the healing process by learning to strengthen and direct their own Qi or vital energy. They build up the internal strength of the body and treat a variety of problems by means of individually prescribed exercises.

The different treatment methods are often combined to complement each other. Treatment periods vary from a couple of days to several months. At first the patient wll need to be seen at least once a week and then as the treatment starts to take effect the sessions can be spaced out more.
